Warnings to facilitate change
Warnings to facilitate change is how we help clients to develop their skills and behaviours. Warnings sound punitive but are not, instead they allow a client to learn from their mistakes. 6 warnings for the same thing, results in a client self discharging. Why? Because this indicates an unwillingness to change, which suggests that a person is not ready to address unhealthy behaviours. We always say that warnings are normal and more of a nudge to get someone to make changes, rather than being punitive.
