Sober Birthday!

We are celebrating a birthday today amongst one of our clients at Somewhere House Addiction Treatment centre. S (we shall call her) is enjoying her first sober birthday in 11 years and unbeknown to her, is about to be given a birthday cake, cards and have a bit of a fuss made of her!

Birthdays in recovery can be special. Why? Well often times it's a chance to reflect and celebrate a special day, which can be remembered for years to come. Something that when in active addiction, is just not possible or at the time, sadly, important.

Birthdays and clean time birthdays are to be cherished along the path of recovery.
