Meditation
Here at somewhere house we like to start and end the week with morning meditation. This sets us up for the week relaxed in mind and body. Clients are encouraged to build a safe space for themselves that they can revisit whenever they feel they need grounding.
Breathing exercises help to control anxiety and manage cravings and can help with broken sleep patterns all of which are normal when coming into rehab.
A good exercise for a night of restful sleep is the 7/11 breathing routine. Breath in for the count of seven and out for the count of 11. Do this a number of time or as long as it takes to drift off into restful sleep.
With a good nights sleep we wake up refreshed and ready to face the challenges of the day ahead.
